Renowned Wildlife Artist Coheleach Exhibits at Ward Museum

SALISBURY, MD---New predators have taken residence on Schumaker Pond. Wildlife specialists, artists, environmentalists and children are awed by the big cats, elephants, wolves and other beasts that now inhabit the LaMay Gallery at the Ward Museum of Wildfowl Art, Salisbury University.

From February 11-May 1, the work of Guy Coheleach, one of the best wild animal painters in the world, is on exhibit. Coheleach, from Bernardsville, NJ, brings the stuff of dreams and safaris within everyone’s reach. His paintings have received the Society of Animal Artists Award of Excellence an unprecedented eight times. This most prestigious honor is awarded by curators and professionals of fine art from museums and universities across America.

Coheleach has had one-man exhibitions at major museums in 21 cities from New York to Los Angeles in the past 11 years.

“Residents of the Lower Shore should seize this opportunity to see this high caliber show by a distinguished artist in their own backyard,” said Lora Bottinelli, Ward Museum curator.

The public is invited to a free opening reception 5-7 p.m. Friday, February 11. A lecture with the artist is noon Sunday, April 24, at the Ward Museum in conjunction with the 35th annual Ward World Championship.
