Registration Open for PRESTO Musical Instrument Lessons

PRESTOSALISBURY, MD---Want to learn to play a musical instrument? Salisbury University can help.

PRESTO, the Preparatory School of Music at SU, is seeking students for its spring sessions, beginning Monday, February 6. Private instruction is available in strings (violin, viola, cello and bass) and piano. Additionally, flute, harp and percussion lessons are offered this spring.

Students participate in 12 weekly sessions each semester culminating in a student recital on Tuesday, May 15, in Holloway Hall. Cost for private lessons range from $295 per semester for 30 minutes (approximately $25 per lesson) to $595 for an hour. Half-hour sessions with student teachers are available for $216 per semester. Registration is open through Friday, March 2.

Lessons are offered on weekday afternoons or Saturday mornings. Except for piano, students are required to bring their own instruments. A limited number of need-based scholarships to students interested in violin lessons will be offered. Students must be participating in their school orchestra program to be eligible for scholarships.
