Recitals Showcase PRESTO Students Tuesday, May 17

treble clefSALISBURY, MD---Students taking lessons through Salisbury University’s PRESTO performing arts outreach program share their talents during recitals at 5 and 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 17, in the Great Hall of Holloway Hall.

The students range in age from 9-18 and in ability from beginner to advanced. They perform piano, violin, cello, percussion and voice works. Selections include Vivaldi’s “Violin Concerto” in A minor, Schubert’s “Ave Maria,” Berlin’s “Anything You Can Do,” Bartok’s “Romanian Folk Dances,” Bach’s “Italian Concerto,” Mollenhauer’s “Infant Paganini Fantasia” and Rodgers and Hart’s “Johnny One Note.”

Students represent PRESTO instructors including Alex Cooper, Karen Niedfeldt, Linda Cockey, Luba Paskova, Burt Tabet, Mary-Tyler Upshaw, Leah Wilson, William Willis, Bobbie Thamert and Jeffrey Schoyen. Dr. Sachi Murasugi directs the program.
