Pulitzer Prize Nominee Sue Ellen Thompson Continues Writers on the Shore Series November 9

Sue Ellen ThompsonSALISBURY, MD---Pulitzer Prize nominee Sue Ellen Thompson reads from her works as part of Salisbury University’s fall Writers on the Shore series 8 p.m. Wednesday, November 9, in the Worcester Room of the Commons.

The Pushcart Prize winner has released five books of poetry, including They in 2014 and the 2006 Pulitzer nominee The Golden Hour. Her poems have been read by Garrison Keillor on National Public Radio and have been featured in U.S. Poet Laureate Ted Kooser’s nationally syndicated newspaper column.

Thompson has won numerous additional awards, including the Samuel French Morse Prize, the Pablo Neruda Prize, two Individual Artist Grants from the State of Connecticut and the Maryland Library Association’s Maryland Author Prize.

She also is the editor of The Autumn House Anthology of Contemporary American Poetry, featuring a selection from the work of 94 U.S. poets. The book is used in college classrooms nationwide.
