Polka Band Performs at Pennsylvania Dutch Dinner March 8

SALISBURY, MD---Salisbury University Dining Services continues its spring Festival of Foods series with a Pennsylvania Dutch dinner 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, March 8, in the Bistro Dining Room of the Commons.

During the dinner, Washington, D.C., polka band The Continentals perform polka and waltz favorites from the region. With more than 25 years of polka experience, the band has performed at the Maryland Oktoberfest, the Baltimore German Festival and Polkafest in Wisconsin Dells, WI, among other German celebrations throughout the country. It also has played for the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Washington, D.C., and appeared on Rodericks for Breakfast on WMAR-TV in Baltimore.

The menu includes corn chowder, apple butter, chow chow, corn relish, three-bean relish, pickled beets, bread and butter pickles, wiener schnitzel (breaded veal cutlet), creamed chicken on waffles, salmon croquettes with white sauce, sauerkraut with apples and bratwurst, sweet potato casserole, mashed potato filling, baked corn, sweet and sour cauliflower, fried eggplant, Lancaster County lima beans, potato bread, soft pretzels, shoofly pie with whipped cream, rhubarb crunch and funnel cakes.

Cost of the meal is $8.95 for adults, $5.50 for children 6-12. Children 5 and under dine free.
