'Nature in American Photography' Exhibit Features Adams, Strand, Others

SALISBURY, MD---Photographers such as Ansel Adams and Paul Strand not only produced some of the 20th century’s most captivating nature pictures, but inspired a number of more contemporary artists, as well.

Their works and others are on display during the exhibit “Nature in American Photography: 20th Century Masterworks,” hanging January 25-February 25 in the University Gallery of Salisbury University’s Fulton Hall. Contemporary photographers represented include David H. Gibson, Lynn Geesman, Mike Smith and, locally, Rick Maloof, among others.

A faculty panel photography discussion is 2 p.m. Tuesday, February 8. Panelists include Dean Peterson, Jeanne Anderton, Carl Goldhagen and Sanaz Labaf-ZadehArt historian Ursula Ehrhardt moderates.
