Michael Waters Conducts Workshops, Attends Conference

SALISBURY, MD---Salisbury State University professor Dr. Michael Waters of the English Department recently read from his works and conducted graduate poetry workshops at the University of Memphis and the University of Southern Mississippi. He was also a featured reader at the annual conference of the Associated Writing Programs in Kansas City.

His poems appear in the current issues of Ploughshares and Chelsea, and are forthcoming in anthologies due form the University of Iowa Press and Southern Illinois University Press. His short story "Fixtures" appears in the spring issue of Connecticut Review, and his article, "Democracy and the Line," translated by Constantin Severin, appears in the current issue of the Romanian literacy journal Continent. Waters will publish two books later this year: Parthenopi: New and Selected Poems, forthcoming from BOA Editions, and Contemporary American Poets, seventh edition, forthcoming from Houghton Mifflin.
