McDermott Paper Spotlighted by Social Science Research Network

SALISBURY, MD---A paper by Dr. E. Patrick McDermott of Salisbury University’s Franklin P. Perdue School of Business was named in the Social Science Research Network’s Top Ten downloads within the topic of Institutions and the Labor Market.

His work, “Industrial Relations in China: Ball of Confusion,” offers possible scenarios about potential developments in that growing nation over the next few years.  It will be featured in the forthcoming Edward Elgar Research Handbook on Work and Employment Relations.

A member of SU’s faculty since 2002, McDermott is an associate professor of legal studies and management in the Department of Management and Marketing. He also serves as the director of research and evaluation for the Center for Conflict Resolution. In 2007, he was awarded a Fulbright Scholarship and spent the year in China as a lecturer in law at one of the country’s leading law schools, East China University of Politics and Law in Shanghai.

McDermott earned his Ph.D. from George Washington University, his Master of Law from the New York University School of Law and his Juris Doctor from Rutgers-Newark School of Law.
