Lot Closures, Traffic Advisory Announced for Move-In Day, Aug. 25

SALISBURY, MD---Thursday, August 25, is Move-In Day for incoming freshmen residing on campus.  To facilitate an efficient move-in process, all main campus lots will be closed, and faculty and staff are asked to park in the large Dresser lot located at South Division and Avery streets.

This includes all main campus lots (Camden Parking Lot F behind Blackwell library, Camden Parking Lot E behind Devilbiss Hall, Route 13 Lots A-C, and Dogwood Parking Lot D), as well as other smaller lots on Camden and College avenues, and the Wayne Street Parking Garage.

Shuttle service is available from 5 a.m.-6:30 p.m. to transport employees from the large Dresser lot to the bus stop located near Caruthers Hall and the Commons Circle.

All University parking lots are expected to be available by late afternoon.  A campuswide e-mail will announce the reopening of main campus parking lots. 

In addition, a traffic advisory has been issued for Camden Avenue between College Avenue and Pine Bluff Road from 6 a.m.-2 p.m.

At the Camden and College avenues intersection, all southbound traffic will be detoured to Route 13.  Access to the Devilbiss and Blackwell parking lots will be restricted to commercial deliveries and Move-In Day traffic only.  Move-In Day traffic will be directed northbound to those lots from the Dogwood Drive and Camden Avenue intersection.

Non-University northbound traffic on Camden Avenue from the Fruitland/Eden areas also will be detoured onto Route 13 at Pine Bluff Road that morning.  To save time, northbound traffic may want to detour onto Route 13 one intersection sooner, at Kay Avenue, or use Riverside Drive until the detour ends at 2 p.m. Traffic should be flowing normally by early afternoon.
