Lockhart Continues Writers on the Shore Series Wednesday, March 4

Barbara Lockhart SALISBURY, MD---Author Barbara Lockhart continues Salisbury University’s Writers on the Shore series 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 4, in the Montgomery Room of the Commons.

Lockhart has earned individual artist awards in fiction from the Maryland State Arts Council for excerpts from her novels Requiem for a Summer Cottage and Elizabeth’s Field, as well as for her short stories. Her works have appeared in publications including Indiana Review, The Greensboro Review, Pleiades, Women’s Words, Oceana Magazine and the anthology Generation to Generation.

In addition, she has written several children’s books, including Rambling Raft, Once a Pony Time (both with her daughter, Lynne Lockhart) and Mosey’s Field. Her work as an early childhood teacher for some 25 years inspired the “Read to Me, Talk With Me” literacy program manual for teachers and parents. She has conducted workshops in Maryland and Delaware about the program, used nationally.
