Intro to Social Work  Offered Via Interactive TV

SALISBURY, MD---Salisbury State University offers the course Introduction to Social Work (SOWK 200 002) via Interactive Television (ITV) at Chesapeake College in Wye Mills during the spring 2001 semester, Monday, January 29, through Tuesday, May 15. The course, which will be delivered live at SSU, is available to both full-time degree students and part-time non-degree students.

Meeting on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:30-10:45 a.m., the class serves as an introduction to the social work profession and examines the social welfare system as society's response to human need and structure for delivery of social services, as well as an overview of fields of social welfare service and social work roles in each field. Twenty-five hours of volunteer service in a social agency is required.
