India Cultural Series Continues With Sari Fashion Show September 16

SALISBURY, MD---Salisbury University’s “India and the Sub-Continent” fall cultural events series continues with a sari fashion show and demonstration 7 p.m. Thursday, September 16, in Holloway Hall Auditorium.

A sari, or saree, is a strip of unstitched cloth draped over the body in various styles. It is popular in India, Nepal, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bhutan, Burma and Malaysia. The most common style is for the sari to be wrapped around the waist, with one end then draped over the shoulder, baring the midriff.

Sponsored by the Office of Cultural Affairs, admission is free and the public is invited. For information call 410-543-6271 or visit the SU Web site at www.salisbury.edu.
