Harpist Dvorak, Violinist Hayes Perform at SU Thursday, April 7

SALISBURY, MD---Harpist Melissa Tardiff Dvorak and violinist Sonya Hayes perform 7 p.m. Thursday, April 7, in the Great Hall of Salisbury University’s Holloway Hall.

An active soloist, chamber music musician and Salisbury native, Dvorak has performed at the world premiere of the film Gods and Generals and in private concert for the ambassador of Spain. She also has appeared with touring bands for singers Anne Murray and Connie Francis, and performed at the U.S. Supreme Court, Kennedy Center, Myerhoff Symphony Hall, Library of Congress and U.S. Naval Academy. She holds a Master of Music in harp performance from the Peabody Conservatory of Music.

Hayes made her solo debut at age 15 when she performed Mendelsshon’s Violin Concerto with the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra for the Discovery Concert Series. As an undergraduate, she performed as a soloist for the National Symphony Orchestra Young People’s Concert Series. She appears regularly as a member of the Washington, D.C.-based Triptych Piano Trio and the Third Millennium Ensemble.
