Grasmick Keynotes Education Leadership Academy Session

SALISBURY, MD---Dr. Nancy Grasmick, Maryland state superintendent of schools, served as the keynote speaker at a recent session of the Academy for Leadership in Education.

Grasmick spoke on the No Child Left Behind Act (NCLB). A panel of business leaders and school superintendents also addressed participants’ questions about NCLB.

The program is sponsored by the Samuel W. and Marilyn C. Seidel School of Education and Professional Studies and Center for Professional Development at Salisbury University.

Participants include Dr. Dennis Pataniczek, dean of the Seidel School of Professional Studies at Salisbury University; Jeff Turner, president and chief executive officer of Peninsula Bank; Dr. Charlene Boston, superintendent of Wicomico County Public Schools; Dr. Jon Andes, superintendent of Worcester County Public Schools; Art Cooley, president of Shoreland Freezers; Dr. Grasmick; Jan Wiseman, director of the Greater Salisbury Committee; Dr. Kent Kimmel, associate provost at SU; Dr. Karen-Lee N. Brofee, superintendent of Somerset County Public Schools; Dr. Janet Dudley-Eshbach, president of SU; and Dr. David Buchanan, provost of SU.

The next Academy for Leadership in Education session is Thursday, February 27, the first of three scheduled during the spring semester.
