French Week Celebration Begins November  4

SALISBURY, MD---In recognition of National French Week, designated by the American Association of Teachers of French as November 4-10, the Department of Modern Languages at Salisbury State University is sponsoring a week-long celebration of French in order to raise the community’s awareness of the French language and culture in all forms and varieties and heighten appreciation of the French Way of life. All events are free, except for the dinner, and open to the public.

On Friday, November 3, SSU’s Department of Music Department presents "An Evening of French Music" with both choral and instrumental music. The concert is at 7 p.m. in the Great Hall in SSU’s Holloway Hall.

On Tuesday, November 7, a video festival, featuring Les Compères (in French with English subtitles) at 7 p.m. and its  American counterpart, Father’s Day, at 9 p.m. takes place in the Pocomoke Room of the Guerrieri University Center.

On Thursday, November 9, a French dinner will be served in the Bistro in the SSU Commons. Held from 5-7:30 p.m. the meal features a gourmet’s delight of assorted meat and vegetable dishes, plus desserts, with French music in the background. Reservations are not required; cost is $8.50.
