Finalists Compete for $5,000 Bernstein Award April 29

SALISBURY, MD---Four finalists have been announced for the 2006 Bernstein Achievement Award for Excellence at Salisbury University.

The competition was established by businessman Richard Bernstein to recognize students who create an outstanding original proposal for a business startup or for the transformation of an existing business.  The prize for the winning team is $5,000. 

This year’s finalists are: “File Cabinet Bookkeeping Services: The Key to Your Business’ Success,” by Lisa Patrick of Greensboro, MD, and Bill Myszka; “Fix It For Her Automotive Repair” by Amy Gebhart and Amber Moore of Salisbury and Sean Crosariol; “Maryland Biodiesel,” by Brian Warren and Tyler Rowe of Berlin, MD, and Matthew Lacher of Severna Park, MD; and “Translations Consulting Group,” by Patrick Barberry of Salisbury.

Presentations by the finalists take place 2 p.m. Saturday, April 29, in Room 114 of Holloway Hall. The winner is announced during a banquet 7 p.m. in the Wicomico Room of the Guerrieri University Center. For more information call 410-543-6030 or visit the SU Web site at www.salisbury.edu. "
