Feast of the Moon Festival Wednesday, Sepember 27

SALISBURY---Salisbury University inaugurates its fall International Festival of Foods with the Feast of the Moon Festival 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, September 27, in the Commons.
The Feast of the Moon Festival is traditionally a festival of romance and harvest activities. Many legends speak of the festival’s origin. The event is also a time of family reunions, symbolized by the round shape of the moon.
A traditional food for the Moon Festival is moon cake, which is eaten at night with the full moon in the sky.  Samples of these traditional cakes are available at the SU dinner.
The Feast of the Moon Festival menu includes dim sum, bulgogi, grilled salmon with wasabi cream sauce, Asian wings, phat (pad) thai, jasmine rice, buddha’s delight, eggplant with miso sauce, candy sushi, sweet potato cake with coconut frosting and fortune cookies. Traditional Moon Festival poetry will be read.
Admission is $9.30 for adults, $5.72 for children 6-12. Children 5 and under dine free.  Par of SU’s “Artists of Asia” fall cultural series, Feast of the Moon Festival is sponsored by University Dining Services and the Office of Cultural Affairs. For more information call
