SALISBURY, MD---The following is a list of events for Family/Homecoming Weekend Friday-Sunday, October 24-26. Admission is free unless otherwise noted. For more information call 410-543-6030.

Friday, October 24

8:30 a.m.-6 p.m. – Family/Homecoming Weekend specials at the University Bookstore

9 a.m.-5 p.m. – Book fair at Blackwell Library

10 a.m.-4 p.m. - Sixth anniversary Sea Gull Century artists exhibit, Fulton Hall Gallery

10 a.m.-9 p.m. – Family Weekend registration and information center, Information Desk, Guerrieri University Center

10-10:50 a.m. – Open classrooms: Fundamentals of Communication with David Shuhy (Fulton Hall 136), Music Appreciation with Dr. Richard Johnson (Fulton Hall 245), Movement and Performance with Dr. Robert Smith (Fulton Hall 203)

11-11:50 a.m. – Open classrooms: International Business Statistics with Sumathy Chandrashekar (Holloway Hall 118), Introduction to Computer Systems with Mary Beth Flagg (Henson Hall 109)

Noon-11:50 – Open classrooms: Elementary Russian with Dagmar Berry (Caruthers Hall 108), World Civilizations with Kevin Birch (Henson Hall 101)

Noon – Luncheon with faculty emeriti and retired staff, Wicomico Room, Guerrieri University Center, reservations required through special mailing

2 p.m. – Golf: shotgun start, four-person scramble. $20 for 18 holes and cart. Open to everyone, including beginners. Soft spikes or tennis shoes required. Prizes awarded for closest to the pin, longest drive, highest team score and best team score. Pre-registration required. Wood Creek Golf Links, 9080 Executive Club Drive, Delmar, MD

5-7:30 p.m. - Dinner at the Commons, $8.50 for adults over 12, $7.65 for seniors 60 and over, $4.95 for children 6-12, free for children under 6

6 p.m. – Athletics Hall of Fame reception and banquet, Wicomico Room, Guerrieri University Center. Inductees are Doug Mock (1991), Vicki Miller Titus (1992) and Mike Esham (1993). Pre-registration is required.

6-8 p.m. – Fitness and fun with campus recreation, Maggs Center

7-9 p.m. – Coffee house with musician and history professor Dr. Wayne Ackerson, Gull’s Nest, Guerrieri University Center; Learning Can Be Delicious! dinner and lecture series. Topics are “Ingredients for Student Success” with Carol Williamson (Founders Room, Guerrieri University Center), “Membrane Lipids: The Fats of Life” with Dr. E. Eugene Williams (Frederick Room, Commons), “Literacy or Letteracy?” with Dr. Nancy Michelson (Calvert Room, Commons), “Shoretrends” with Dr. Memo Diriker (Worcester Room, Commons) and “The Unknown Liberal: Nixon and Civil Rights Policy” with Dr. Dean Kotlowski (Montgomery Room, Commons).
