Dr. Janet Dudley-Eschbach, of Fairmont State College (WV) Joins List of SSU Presidential Finalists

SALISBURY, MD---Dr. Samuel Kirkpatrick, one of the finalists for president at Salisbury State University, has accepted the presidency of Eastern Michigan University in Ypsilanti, MI.

He is the second finalist to remove himself from the presidential search at SSU. Previously Dr. Richard Wells, provost and vice president of academic affairs at Indiana State University, pulled out of the Salisbury State search to pursue a presidency elsewhere.

The Salisbury State University Search Committee has invited Dr. Janet Dudley-Eschbach, currently president of Fairmont State College in West Virginia, to interview for the position next week.

Dr. Joel Jones, interim president of SSU, is familiar with Dudley-Eschbach's academic and administrative credentials and is "excited that she has agreed to be interviewed."

The other three candidates who have already visited the campus, Dr Wilson Bradshaw, provost and vice president of academic affairs at Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania, Dr. Barbara Haskew, provost and vice president of academic affairs at Middle Tennessee State University, and Dr. Michael Rao, chancellor of Montana State University-Northern, remain in the search.
