Dance Company Spring Concert is April 29-May 1

SALISBURY, MD---Salisbury University Dance Company’s annual Spring Concert in celebration of National Dance Week is Thursday-Saturday, April 29-May 1, at 8 p.m. in Holloway Hall Auditorium.  The one-hour program features works by guest, faculty, and student choreographers. The fire and wind of Fuego y Viento by Jaime Coronado, co-artistic director of the Spanish Dance Theatre, is danced to the music of Paco de Lucia.  “Djomon” by Linda Hallman-Darr reveals the pure energy of West African dance through a dialogue of drums.  A dramatic tribute to Matthew Shepard is the theme of October 12, 1998 by Dylan Pearce.  Artistic director Victoria Hutchinson premieres Amazing Grace, a solo created for Vanessa Salgado, a Parkside High School senior and soloist with the Eastern Shore Ballet Theatre.  Two works are presented in conjunction with the fourth annual Salisbury University Research Conference.  Soft Repose by senior Stephanie Stotler is the winner of the 2003 Fall Showcase Dance Adjudication.  Surrender is the collaborative effort of choreographer Erin Fair Rhoades (’03) and composer Allison Efford, a junior.     Tickets at the door are $8, $6 for seniors, alumni and teen-agers.
