Atrium Exhibit Features 'Paint and Clay'

SALISBURY, MD---Salisbury State University Galleries sponsors an art exhibit titled "Paint and Clay" featuring the work of two local artists - Paula Hepburn of Salisbury and Marge Violetta of Crisfield.

The exhibit runs March 7-April 13 in the Atrium Gallery of the Guerrieri University Center. The Gallery's hours are Tuesday-Friday, 10a.m.-4p.m. and Saturday-Sunday, noon-4 p.m. The Gallery is closed Monday. Admission is free and the public is invited. An opening reception will be held Friday, March 9, 4-6p.m.

Hepburn is a watercolor and watercolor/collage painter. She is an abstract expressionist whose subjects are drawn from places she has traveled. A love for water and rocks as found along the coast of Maine are evident in her most recent works.

Violetta is a clay sculptor who is fascinated with smoke firing. She sees the smoke process as the darkness and the emerging sculpture as a light of her passion.

Both Hepburn and Violetta are charter members of the Artists Co-op at The Art Institute and Gallery of Salisbury. They have had solo and group shows at Rehoboth Beach, DE, Annapolis, Washington, D.C. and Georgetown, DE. Their works have been in national and juried shows.
