Assateague Lecture Inaugurates Brown Bag Lunch Series

SALISBURY, MD---Dr. Dean Kotlowski, history faculty at Salisbury University, inaugurates the 2004-05 Brown Bag Lunch Discussion series with “The Last Lonely Shore: The Making of Assateague National Seashore,” at noon Thursday, September 30, in the University Gallery at Fulton Hall. The island’s fate was determined in 1965 under President Lyndon B. Johnson’s administration. His national environmental policy affected the Eastern Shore and ultimately saved Assateague from becoming a lucrative real estate venture. Sponsored by the Charles R. and Martha N. Fulton School of Liberal Arts, the lecture is free and the public is invited. Soft drinks and light refreshments are provided.
