ACS Chemistry Degree Option"

SALISBURY, MD---Consider the opportunity to study life on the molecular level, and to tackle and answer some of life's most interesting questions.

An ACS (American Chemical Society) degree in chemistry with biochemistry option is attractive to companies in the areas of pharmaceuticals and biotechnology. Development of new drugs and agricultural products, and biological methods for cleaning up toxic chemicals are just a few areas of interest. Or, the degree might be a stepping stone to careers in clinical chemistry, toxicology and other interesting fields.

Students interested in Salisbury State University’s chemistry program should be highly motivated and have strong scholastic records. Since the SSU chemistry faculty are genuinely interested in individualized supervision of students, the opportunity for students to be involved in chemistry/biochemistry research may begin as early as the freshman year.

A new science building scheduled to open for the 2002 fall semester at SSU will house a modern biochemistry teaching laboratory and several student/faculty research laboratories. Interested students may contact either Dr. Edward Senkbeil (410-543-6455) or Dr. E.J. Crane (410-548-2945) for more information about this exciting program.
