88th National Watercolor Society Exhibit Comes to SU February 3-March 12

SALISBURY, MD---Salisbury University is the first stop on the National Watercolor Society’s 88th annual exhibition tour. The exhibit hangs in the University Gallery of Fulton Hall from February 3-March 12.

Featuring 30 select paintings from the society’s 2008 exhibit, displayed last fall at the Muckenthaler Cultural Center Foundation’s Main Floor Gallery in Fullerton, CA, the SU installation also includes projections of all 100 paintings in the full exhibit. The display has a local connection, as well: Former Eastern Shore artist David Scott was presented the society’s Life Achievement Award by the jurors for the 88th annual exhibit. His paintings are included in the exhibit.

Two film screenings are held in connection with the display: Milford Zornes: Watercolor Master from 6-7 p.m. Friday, February 13, and Visions of California: The Story of California Scene Painting from 6-7:30 p.m. Friday, March 6. Both screenings are in Fulton Hall Room 111, and exhibit receptions follow.

Gallery hours are 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Tuesday-Friday, noon-4 p.m. weekends. The gallery is closed Mondays and holidays. Admission is free and the public is invited. For more information call 410-548-2547 or visit the SU Web site at www.salisbury.edu.
