SU's PRESTO Plus Offers Adult Piano Lessons
SALISBURY, MD---Know someone who would like to play the piano, but is afraid to fail? Or is too shy to play in front of others? Or wary that they would pay for lessons and then not like it? Or thought they didn’t have enough musical background?
Dr. Nan Richerson can help.
Through PRESTO, the Preparatory School of Music at Salisbury University, Richardson is teaching a new class: PRESTO Plus – Piano for Pleasure Group Lessons. Two open houses are scheduled in SU’s piano lab, Fulton Hall Room 243, for those interested in learning more: 6:30-7:30 p.m. Tuesday, October 3, and 10:30-11:30 a.m. Friday, October 6. To RSVP call Lacey Robinson at 410-546-2985 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
“Piano for Pleasure” is a beginner group class for adults who want to learn to play without the pressure they may feel in individual lessons. Classes are offered at SU in two one-hour sessions: 6:30 p.m. Tuesdays, October 10-November 14; or 10:30 a.m. Fridays, October 13–November 17.
The first two weeks of class are free, with no obligation to continue. Cost of the remaining four classes is $88. Class sizes are limited to 10 per session. No background in music is required. The lab includes keyboards and headsets, enabling students to hear only their own playing.
