SU Alpha Phi Omega Chapter Collects Items for Military Care Packages October 24

Alpha Phi Omega chapter logoSALISBURY, MD---Salisbury University’s chapter of the Alpha Phi Omega (APO) national co-ed service fraternity is challenging the community to support military troops serving overseas.

From 8 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday, October 24, APO members collect items at Giant Food in Salisbury for care packages sent to soldiers through the local non-profit organization Operation We Care. Needed items include canned pop-top pasta, granola bars, hot chocolate, instant oatmeal, microwave popcorn, toaster pastries, instant tea bags, and personal hygiene items including deodorant, shampoo, body wash and dental floss.

APO’s goal is to collect enough items to help fill 500 care packages to be sent to troops in time for Veterans Day. The organization also will sell rubber ducks for $1 each to help offset the cost of postage.

For more information call 410-543-6030 or visit the SU website at www.salisbury.edu.
