'The Exorcist' Screening and Discussion at SU October 26

The Exorcist movie posterSALISBURY, MD---Salisbury University hosts a screening and discussion of the 1973 thriller The Exorcist 6 p.m. Monday, October 26, in Fulton Hall Room 111.

Dr. Andrew Scahill of the English Department introduces the film with the talk “A Trinity of Approaches to The Exorcist.” He also leads a discussion afterward.

Scahill is the author of the newly released book The Revolting Child in Horror Cinema: Youth Rebellion and Queer Spectatorship, which casts a critical eye on The Exorcist and other horror films featuring child protagonists. During his talk, he discusses the film from the perspectives of gender theory, queer theory and racial politics.

Sponsored by the Charles R. and Martha N. Fulton School of Liberal Arts Dean’s Office and the English Department, admission is free and the public is invited. Light refreshments will be served.
