APIC Presents Magdalen Hsu-Li Performance Thursday, March 12

Magdalen Hsu-LiSALISBURY, MD---Salisbury University’s Asian and Pacific Islander Club (APIC) presents a performance by musician Magdalen Hsu-Li and her stage partner, Greane, 7 p.m. Thursday, March 12, in Holloway Hall Auditorium.

The event includes a dialogue about identity, racism, bisexual, Asian-American and feminist issues, interspersed between songs and reflected in many of Hsu-Li’s lyrics.

She explores cultural identity through her personal story about being an “out” Asian-American woman growing up in the rural South. There, she faced obstacles including racism, stereotyping, homophobia, biphobia within the LGBTQ community and prejudice against her Tourette’s Syndrome.

Admission is $5. SU ID holders receive one ticket free. Tickets are available at the Information Desk of the Guerrieri University Center until one hour before the show.

For more information contact APIC President Christopher Peterson or Dr. Bryan Horikami, club advisor, at apicsalisbury@gmail.com or visit the SU website at www.salisbury.edu.
