'Princeton Review' Again Names SU Among 'Best Colleges'
SALISBURY, MD---“Salisbury strives not only to challenge students academically, but to make them well-rounded as possible.”
“I have met so many amazing, captivating professors while at Salisbury. They make the classes interesting and real.”
This is what students are saying about Salisbury University in The Princeton Review’s recently released The Best 378 Colleges. This marks the 15th consecutive year SU has been included in the national guidebook. SU also was named among the publisher's Best Northeastern Colleges for 2014.
Princeton Review editors add that SU provides “stellar academic programs coupled with the benefit of a state school price tag. … Admission to Salisbury is competitive, and admissions officers want to admit students who will not only succeed but also thrive.”
“We are proud to have been named one of the nation’s best by The Princeton Review for a milestone 15th year,” said Dr. Diane Allen, SU provost and senior vice president of academic affairs. “The consistent top rankings Salisbury receives in this and other collegiate guidebooks reflect the expertise, dedication and love of learning of our faculty, staff and students. They are making SU A Maryland University of National Distinction.”
“We base our selections primarily on data we obtain in our annual institutional data surveys,” said Robert Franek, the book’s author, and Princeton Review senior vice president and publisher. “We also take into account input we get from our staff, our 35-member National College Counselor Advisory Board, our personal visits to schools and the wide range of feedback we get from our surveys of students attending these schools.”
Along with the University of Maryland College Park and the University of Maryland Baltimore County, SU is one of three University System of Maryland campuses represented this year. Other colleges named include the University of Delaware, the U.S. Naval Academy and St. John’s College of Maryland.
The Princeton Review’s rankings represent the top 15 percent of colleges and universities, both public and private, in the nation.
