Wicomico County Under Tornado Watch Until 10 a.m.

8:30 a.m.

The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a tornado watch for Wicomico County and surrounding areas until 10 a.m. today.

In addition, thunderstorms are possible throughout the morning with showers likely this afternoon, clearing by the evening, the NWS said. Winds from 15-23 mph, with gusts up to 38 mph, are predicted throughout the day.

A watch is the first alert issued by the National Weather Service when severe storms are possible in our area. The watch is issued when the conditions are favorable for the formation of severe weather. Remain alert for approaching storms; however, residents may continue with their routine or any other activities.

Please monitor the media and check the SU Web site for future reports.
