Summer Center for the Arts Auditions Saturday, April 22

SALISBURY, MD---Sponsored by the Maryland State Department of Education, the Maryland Summer Center for the Arts at Salisbury University offers talented middle and high school students across the state an opportunity to study music/orchestra, visual art, musical theatre, digital video production and acting in a two-week residential summer program.

Auditions for this year’s program are 9:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Saturday, April 22, in the Fulton Hall Lobby on campus. Off-campus auditions are 9:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Saturday, April 29, at Franklin Middle School in Reisterstown, MD.

In addition to 5-6 hours of class each day, students live and work in small groups to develop problem solving, interpersonal and community building skills. Field trips, workshops, and performances by guest artists enhance the learning experience.

Tuition to the Summer Center is $700. Scholarships are available. To set up an audition time or for more information call Director Robert Smith at 410-548-4777. Program information and applications forms are available online at www.marylandpublicschools.org/summercenters. "
