Savor the Symphony Saturday, February 19, at SU"

class=""MsoNormal"">SALISBURY, MD---Guest conductor Clyde Mitchell and guest soloist Sarah Jackson join the Salisbury Symphony Orchestra at Salisbury University (SSO) during its annual Mid-Winter Concert 8 p.m. Saturday, February 19, in Holloway Hall Auditorium.

class=""MsoNormal"">Prior to the concert, the Salisbury University Foundation and SSO host “Savor the Symphony,” a celebration of the orchestra beginning 5:30 p.m. in the Great Hall and Social Room of Holloway Hall. The event includes a silent auction and hors d’oeuvres. Cocktails will be available. Tickets are $100 per person. For tickets call the SU Box Office at 410-543-6228.

class=""MsoNormal"">Mitchell, founding conductor of Vancouver’s Sinfonia of the North Shore, earned his Master of Music in orchestral conducting from California State University, Long Beach. He has held conducting positions with the Northeastern Pennsylvania Philharmonic in Scranton and Wilkes-Barre, PA and the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra, in addition to the Sinfonia.

class=""MsoNormal"">Jackson, piccolo player for the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra, earned her Bachelor of Music from the University of British Columbia and an Artist’s Diploma from McGill University in Montreal. Prior to joining the Los Angeles Philharmonic, she was assistant principal flute and piccolo with the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra.
