Fall Dance Showcase is Scheduled November 20-22

SALISBURY, MD---Salisbury University Dance Company's 14th annual Fall Showcase is Thursday-Saturday, November 20-22 at 8 p.m. in Holloway Hall Auditorium.  The popular production features guest artists Dylan Pearce and Jordan Perry, and six new works by Company members.

Guest choreographer Dylan Pearce studied at the prestigious Joffrey Ballet.  His television and stage appearances include the Starbound Showcase, WMBA All-Star Halftime, the Michael Awards and Equity Fights AIDS.  “Rock the 80s,” a rousing all-company finale in three sections, is Dylan’s first work for the Company.

Jordan Perry is a 20-year-old, self-taught hip-hop dancer performing and choreographing for Atlantic City’s hottest nightclub, the Casbah at Trump Taj Mahal Casino Resort.  He has performed for The Wade Robson Project, Jade Star in Las Vegas, and the Neil Young/Crazy Horse Concert Tour.

Allison Efford, a junior, includes balloons and streamers in her choreography, "99 Red Balloons," set to the up-beat music of Bjork and the Sugarcubes.  Junior Jessica Grabau presents "Psalm 32."  Choreographed to the instrumental music of John Williams, Ronan Hardiman and Thomas Newman, this dynamic modern dance explores biblical truths about temptation, sin and repentance. Sophomore Fiona Green presents "Welcome to The Jungle," a high energy fusion of jazz and hip-hop dance set to rock music by Guns N’ Roses. Jennifer Lee, a junior, presents “Here Without You,” a lyrical work for eight dancers set to music by "Three Doors Down." Senior Dara Phillips presents “Spanish Vibes,” a classical ballet with flamenco flair set to music performed by bond. Stephanie Stotler, a senior, presents "Soft Repose," a lyrical work performed by six dancers to the music of Jewel.

Admission for the one-hour performance is $8 for adults and $6 for senior citizens, teens and SU alumni.  Children under 12 and SU ID holders are admitted free.  Reservations are not required.  Tickets are available at the door 30 minutes before curtain.  Fund raising benefits the Salvation Army Christmas Assistance Fund to help the needy, hungry and homeless in the community during the holidays.  For more information call 410-548-4183 or visit the Dance Company's Web site at> www.salisbury.edu/schools/seidel/dance-->>-->.
