SU Band Pugsly Performs For Women's History Month
SALISBURY, MD---Salisbury University faculty band Pugsly, performs 5-6:30 p.m. Friday, March 11, in the Gull’s Nest.
The group includes: English faculty Tom Moriarty on the drums, biology faculty Les Erickson on the saxophone and John Egan on bass, math and computer science faculty Kurt Ludwick on the trombone and communications faculty Chrys Egan on lead vocals, conga and keys.
Pugsly, named after a dog, humbly began in Egan’s basement and evolved into a five piece pop-rock ensemble. They have performed in The Gull’s Nest, at Brew River, Monkey Barrel and for Sports Illustrated.
Their performance, part of SU’s Women’s History Month celebration, includes a special piece for Women’s History Month and other original songs “Nature Chick” and “Rock Star.”
“Both songs explore stereotypes about what it means to be female, but in a way we can all laugh at so that it’s non-threatening,” said Egan. Pugsly also performs cover songs by Natalie Imbruglia, Eddie Brickell and Katie Pierson among others. The performance is free and the public is invited.
