SU Hosts 21st Eastern Shore High School Math Competition

SALISBURY, MD---Mathematics take center stage on Wednesday, November 10, as 69 students from 23 schools in Maryland, Virginia and Delaware put their intellect and creativity to the test in the 21st Annual Eastern Shore High School Mathematics Competition at Salisbury University. Conectiv Power Delivery, SunTrust Bank and Salisbury University’s Department of Mathematics and Computer Science cosponsor the event. The top three individual students and all members of the top three teams will receive U.S. Savings Bonds and book prizes. (Several book prizes have been generously donated by Key College Publishing.) In addition, each participating student receives a certificate, and all participants (including teachers) receive customized T-shirts. “As always, it is a thrill and an honor to host the Eastern Shore High School Mathematics Competition,” said Kurt Ludwick, co-chair of the event. “It is gratifying to have this opportunity to bring together the region’s best and brightest high school students for a day of celebration of mathematics.”
