SU Faculty, Former Faculty Team For Teacher Education Book

SALISBURY, MD---Dr. George Whitehead III, Salisbury University social psychology professor, and former SU professor Florence Fay Pritchard have provided a revolutionary guidebook to teacher educators and service learning industry professionals.

Their book, Serve and Learn: Implementing and Evaluating Service-Learning in Middle and High Schools, explains how service learning can enhance a student’s intellectual development while promoting academic achievement and citizenship. The publication offers practical information and ideas for community partners and teachers to design, implement and evaluate service learning projects.

“Serve and Learn presents an approach to service-learning use that, to my knowledge, has not been offered for K-12 educators by other publications,” said Jeffrey Anderson of Seattle University. “It provides much more detail regarding assessment and evaluation than other books on the subject.”
