'Evening of Percussion' Concert at SU Thursday, April 6

SALISBURY, MD---The Salisbury University Percussion and World Drum ensembles, directed by Eric Shuster and Ted Nichols, respectively, inaugurate the 2017 SU Percussion Festival with their annual spring concert, “An Evening of Percussion,” 7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 6, in Holloway Hall Auditorium.

 Salisbury University Percussion and World Drum ensembles

The Percussion Ensemble’s program salutes early percussion ensemble pioneer Lou Harrison (1917-2003) on the centennial of his birth. It also features a new multimedia work for percussion and computer by Matt Wellins. The World Drum Ensemble performs works by Babatunde Olatunji and Carlos Santana, among others.
