Croatian Ambassador Speaks at SU Nov. 18

H.E. Joski ParoSALISBURY, MD---H.E. Joško Paro, Croatian ambassador to the United States, visits Salisbury University Monday, November 18.

He speaks on “Conflict and Reconciliation in the Balkans, 1990-2013” from 7-9 p.m. in the Worcester Room of the Commons.

Paro was appointed to his current position in 2012. Prior to becoming the ambassador to the U.S., he served as the foreign policy advisor to Croatia’s president and as assistant minister of foreign affairs in charge of relations with Europe and neighboring countries, as well as the U.S., Russia, Canada and Israel.

A part of Croatia’s diplomatic service since 1992, he also has been an ambassador to the United Kingdom and the Netherlands. A seasoned negotiator, he played a prominent role in the post-conflict normalization of Croatia’s relations with other Balkan countries in the 1990s.
