Faculty Member to Participate in Prague Summer Session

SALISBURY, MD---Salisbury State University English professor and two-time Pushcart Prize-winning poet Michael Waters travels to the Czech Republic to read from his new book--Parthenopi: New and Selected Poems (BOA Editions, 2001). The book recently won him the Individual Artist Award in Poetry from the Maryland State Arts Council. 

Waters reads from Parthenopi in the Czech Republic this summer as part of the Prague Summer Semester sponsored by Charles University in Prague and the University of New Orleans.

The poet recently read from the book at the University of Southern California and the University of California at Riverside.

Waters edited or co-edited four books, two of which are due out this year, including Contemporary American Poetry (Houghton Mifflin) and A. Poulin, Jr.: Selected Poems (BOA Editions) and one next year, Perfect in Their Art: Poems of Boxing from Homer to Ali (Southern Illinois UP).
