Skylark Takes Flight at SU Wednesday, November 5

SALISBURY, MD---The Romanian folk band Skylark performs 7 p.m. Wednesday, November 5, in the Great Hall of Holloway Hall as part of Salisbury University’s Eastern European Cultural Events Series.

Featuring Gelu Cuzic on violin; Ciprian Cuzie on keyboard; and Ghiocel Cioltan on clarinet, caval, tilinca and soprano saxophone, the group plays traditional folk music from many Eastern European countries. Performing throughout Europe at traditional holiday festivals, clubs, resorts and cruise ships, the trio has received international recognition for preserving generations of folk music. The group flies in from Romania exclusively for the SU performance.

During and after the concert, Cuzic talks about the origins and customs behind the band’s repertoire and answers audience questions.

The SU Office of Cultural Affairs and Museum Programs sponsors the event. The performance is free and the public is cordially invited.
