Wildfowl Carving Competition April 27-29  

SALISBURY, MD---“A Celebration of Wildfowl Art,” the 31st annual Ward World Championship Wildfowl Carving Competition, is Friday-Sunday, April 27-29, at the Roland E. Powell Convention Center.  During the competition, which features more than 2,000 entries, artists compete for over $100,000 in awards and prizes. Categories in the show include wildfowl and decoy caring, wildlife sculpture, painting and photography. 

Close to 10,000 attend this annual show, which draws art and nature lovers to the world’s finest display of wildfowl and wildlife art.

Tickets are $8 for adults, $7 for seniors and students, and children under 12 free if accompanied by an adult. A three-day pass is $16.  Tickets can be purchased at the door, by calling the Ward Museum Gift Shop at 410-742-4988, ext. 120, or through TicketMaster at 1-800-551-SEAT (7328) or in Landover, MD, at 410-481-SEAT.

The event is partially funded by the Maryland State Department of Tourism and the Department of Business and Economic Development. Sponsors include Chesapeake Life and Wildfowl Carving magazines.
