Francis Jenckins “Land Warrant Book” was familiar to the Somerset Commissioners and referred to as the “Book of the Certificate of Surveys.” The following passage is found in the Somerset Land Records for 1733-34 (MSA C1774-31), folio 37 was pointed out to the transcriber by Mr. John C. Lyon:

Somerset ~~
Memorandum: 8-ber 14th 1732. That Major Robt. King come before us the Subscribers, Comiss’ers appointed to examine evidences in relation to the bounders of a certain tract of land called Amity belonging to Wm. Furnis of the County afsd and offered to us a book of the Certificates of Surveys which the said King made oath on the Holy Evangelist of Almighty God was to the best of his knowledge the book of Certificate of Surveys made by Coll Francis Jenkins late of this County deceased in which said book appears to be a survey made by the abovesaid Jenkins for Mr. Randall Revill late of this County dec’d and also a survey of a tract of land called Amity for Mr. Alexander Draper late of this Co’ty dec’d which may plainly appear by the said Book of Surveys or recourse to the Records and further Deponent saith not ~~~~
