Spencer Schuyler

Spencer Schuyler has taught piano for close to forty years. He started taking lessons when he was six and won several competitions in the Washington, D.C. area where he grew up. Over the years he has accompanied choirs, chamber music ensembles, musicals, opera, and just about any form of music that requires a piano make music. He attended Shenandoah Conservatory in Winchester, Virginia, and West Virginia University in Morgantown, West Virginia, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Music Education and Master of Music degree respectively. Performance credits include the Queen Elizabeth II, New York State Council on the Arts, Brooklyn Repertory Company, Kalamazoo Singers, Catholic University, and the Madrigal Singers. Spencer taught music in the Accomack County Schools for eight years, and has been Director of Music at Naomi Makemie Presbyterian Church since 2005. He teaches piano lessons at the church and at his home. Spencer resides in Greenbackville with his wife Julia, and their two daughters Antonina and Sasha.
