Christie Selway
Christie
Selway taught general and instrumental music in Worcester County
Public schools from 1976 through 2007. During these years, she
devoted her time and efforts to encouraging young students to
nurture their personal music talents and appreciation for music
as an art form. She graduated from Baldwin Wallace College in
Berea, Ohio with a Bachelor in Music Education, majoring in
flute. Dr. Selway received her Masters of Education from
Salisbury University in 1980, and her Doctorate of educational
Leadership from Wilmington University in 2004. She has performed
with various small ensembles and choral groups, including
chamber groups, solo competitions, recitals, and social events.
After retiring from teaching in 2007, Dr. Selway traveled
extensively for two years, returning to the Eastern Shore in
2009. She currently teaches part-time and Salisbury University
and also works in the SU Department of Music office.
