Calvin Robinson

Calvin Robinson, tenor, received his degree from the nationally ranked Mississippi University for Women (MUW) in 2003 where he was a member of several singing ensembles including the University Chorale, Madrigal Singers, MUW Men's Quartet and a cabaret style performing ensemble known as "The Group". During his studies at MUW, he performed in various musical theatre productions including Beehive, All Night Strut, Once Upon A Mattress, and Jet Set '67, as well as 3 undergraduate recitals featuring the works of Mozart, Bach, Beethoven, Schubert, and various 20th century composers.

Calvin has also had the privilege of performing with several All State Honor choirs which included 2 encore performances under the direction of the late Moses Hogan. He also has been well received as guest soloist for productions of Handel's Messiah, Dubois's Seven Last Words of Christ, Schubert’s Mass in G, Faure’s Requiem and the Duruflé Requiem, and actively performs with the Salisbury Chorale, Salisbury Chamber Singers, the Easton Choral Arts Society and the Salisbury Community Band. Calvin toured with the southern gospel quartet "Revelation" as their first tenor from 1998 until August of 2004. The group released their first CD entitled “Reaching” in the summer of 2001. In addition to performing, he was a staff member of First United Methodist Church in Columbus, MS, serving as director of youth music, 2 adult handbell choirs, K-1 and 6th grade children's choir, 2 adult sanctuary choirs, and in December 2002, served as Director/Conductor of the annual Singing Christmas Tree for the community of Columbus, being the youngest director in the 17 year history of the event.
 

Calvin joined the adjunct voice faculty in August 2005 and also works as an office assistant
