Ted Nichols
Ted Nichols has been a private instructor
for 35 years and has performed with groups throughout the United States.
His experience includes musical styles from classical to rock. Ted has
also recorded and toured with contemporary Christian artist Paul Lewis.
He has performed in the Easton Choral Society, Salisbury Community Players,
Salisbury Symphony and the Mid-Atlantic Symphony.
Ted Nichols and Tom Clark developed a percussion duo called T & T
Percussion. Both share a fascination with percussion and continue to study
new styles and instruments. Most recently they have developed a presentation
on hand drumming featuring African, Japanese and Latin rhythms.
In the spring of 2005 Ted traveled to West Africa where he researched
African instruments and rhythms. He plans to develop drum circles which
incorporate these traditional rhythms. His research will include the influence
of African style and rhythms on contemporary music.
Currently he directs a percussion group called Sons of the King at Salisbury
Urban Ministries, and offers percussion seminars. Ted is also a member
of the facilities at The University of Maryland Eastern Shore and Wor-
Wic Community College.
Ted holds Bachelor of Science and Master of Education from Salisbury
University. His undergraduate degrees include Music and Science Education.
