Dr. Danielle Cumming

cumming_photoClassical guitarist Danielle Cumming is a performer and teacher whose performances have been broadcast in the United States and in Canada on national television and radio. She has given recitals, taught master classes and served on international guitar competition juries in North America and Europe.

After a year of study in Spain, Danielle released her solo CD, postcards, a recording of 20th century repertoire with world music influences. She is currently finishing a recording of works she commissioned, to be released on the German label AureaVox.

Danielle holds a Doctorate in Performance from McGill University and a Masters in Performance from the University of Toronto, where she studied with the renowned guitarist, Norbert Kraft. Danielle is also a certified yoga instructor, and has created and taught yoga programs to help musicians prevent injuries and handle performance anxiety.

Danielle is a D'Addario Artist.

Guitar in the Gallery Series

Danielle Cumming is the director of the Guitar in the Gallery series, presenting emerging professional guitarists in the Fulton Hall Art Gallery on select Tuesdays throughout the year. Please click here for more information or contact Dr. Cumming.

Guitar Festival

Salisbury University hosts the eighth annual Guitar Festival and Competition for young guitar students and their parents on Saturday, April 23, 2016. Participants may take part in masterclasses, the Festival Ensemble, and a playing competition for three age categories. The afternoon concludes with a concert, open in the public, by esteemed Newman and Oltman duo, and the participants' ensemble.

Classical Guitar Studies in Germany Program

Danielle Cumming is the faculty director of The Classical Guitar Studies in Germany Program, for which she will travel with students to Germany to participate in the International Guitar Symposium in Iserlohn. For more information contact Dr. Danielle Cumming.
