ORIENTATION - "Powerful Connections"

Welcome to Salisbury University on behalf
of the Office of Multicultural Student Services!
Our office has sponsored the Intercultural
Orientation Program for Students of Color (i.e. Powerful
Connections, 2008) for the past nine years. We are very
pleased that you have selected Salisbury University as your
destination to receive a quality education. Our goal is to
provide opportunities for your to connect with upper-class
students of color through our Peer Mentor Program and to become
acclimated with the campus as well as the Office of
Multicultural Student Services and its programs through this
experience. Our program has been a vital link for new
students of color and their success at the University.
Please plan to join us on August 24-28,
2008 as you establish connections that will last a lifetime!
Program Goals:
- To pre-orient students of color to
Salisbury University
- To provide an opportunity to connect
with upper-class students through peer mentoring
- To orient new students to the Office
of Multicultural Student Services and its programs, goals,
activities and available resources
- To orient students to academic
expectations and social responsibility
- To help students become acquainted
with the campus
