MSCA Field Trips
MSCA offers an integrated, holistic experience. During their two-week stay, students explore the creative process, observe  professional exemplars and test their learning in public forums. In 2006, musical theatre students had the opportunity to perform on a national stage as they opened an Orioles’ game at Camden Yards singing a new arrangement of the national anthem composed by Dr. Ray Zeigler, former SU music professor.
MSCA students have performed at or visited a variety of venues during their residency. Below is a partial listing:
• The Shakespeare Theatre • Wolf Trap • Baltimore Museum of Art
• Kennedy Center • Brandywine River Museum
• Maryland Institute College of Art Inner Harbor/Power Plant
• Arena Stage Corcoran Gallery • The Visionary Museum • Towson Town Center • The National Symphony • Ladew Gardens Longwood Gardens Hillwood Museum and Gardens Kreeger Museum
• The Baltimore Symphony • SU Commons • Barnes and Noble Booksellers
“On behalf of the Orioles, I would like to extend my sincerest regards for your group’s performance of ”The Star-Spangled Banner” at Oriole Park on Sunday, July 16. The group’s rendition was appreciated and acknowledged by everyone in attendance.
“The national anthem is one of baseball’s most honored traditions, so we use a very selective process to schedule performers. You should be very proud of your group’s performance.
”Once again, I thank you and wish you the best of luck with your future performances.”
