Distance Learning
Salisbury University facilities for
providing videoconferencing services are thru the State of
Maryland's IVN ( Interactive Video Network ) system. Their
is a dedicated classroom in Caruthers Hall, room 112 for
supporting this task.

This room is equipped with a Polycom 8000 codec,
seating for twelve students, two video projectors and a
fully equipped teaching station. The Polycom codec has
its own dedicated network connection in addition to the
computer located on the teaching station. The room is
also equipped with wireless internet for student use.
At this time the university only supports TCP/IP
connections and will not support ISDN "direct dial"
conferences.
A daily schedule for the "IVN" network
can be found at:

Salisbury University also has two dedicated satellite
dishes that will provide C or Ku band satellite
downlinks along with digital satellite receivers for PBS
ALS along with other services.
All services can be feed to any point
located on the campus by our own internal cable
television system or several fixed locations using
dedicated fiber optic cabling.
